The Archivum Moves to Bluesky and LinkedIn

07/04/2025

The Blinken OSA Archivum has discontinued its presence on X (formerly known as Twitter) and transitioned to Bluesky, a decentralized social media platform. This decision stems from increasing concerns over the lack of content moderation, the spread of disinformation, and the unchecked spread of harmful narratives on X, which have intensified following regulatory shifts and changes in platform governance.

The evolution of digital communication spaces has always been of critical importance to the Archivum, an institution committed to transparency, historical accuracy, and the defense of open societies. X, once a vibrant hub for academic, journalistic, and activist communities, has witnessed a marked decline in its ability to curb harmful content, including hate speech, propaganda, and coordinated disinformation campaigns, making the platform increasingly misaligned with the principles that guide our work.

Bluesky offers an alternative that better aligns with the Archivum’s mission and values. Built on the AT Protocol, it embraces decentralization, aiming to offer users greater control over their experience while fostering a healthier and more constructive online discourse. By making this transition, we aim to support and contribute to a more responsible and ethical digital environment.

We encourage our audience, researchers, and partners to join us on Bluesky as we continue our efforts to engage in critical discourse, share archival materials, and contribute to historical and contemporary conversations.

Join the Archivum on Bluesky as we navigate this new chapter, remaining resolute in our commitment to free and open knowledge.

Besides joining Bluesky, the Archivum has also launched its LinkedIn page as a dedicated channel for reaching professional and academic communities. A platform that emphasizes expertise, institutional dialogue, and professional engagement, LinkedIn provides an ideal space for sharing our research, academic projects, and public programs with scholars, educators, and cultural institutions worldwide. Through LinkedIn, we aim to promote meaningful exchanges, highlight ongoing work at the Archivum, and build new connections based on shared values of openness and social responsibility.

We invite you to follow us on LinkedIn, where we will continue to showcase the relevance of archives in addressing contemporary challenges and exploring the past in ways that inform the present.
