Relating to the fall of the Srebrenica “safe area” in July 1995, these background materials were collected by the journalist David Rohde.
Covering the war in Bosnia for the Christian Science Monitor, David Rohde was the first Western journalist to report about the mass graves where thousands of massacred Muslims were buried after the Bosnian Serb troops captured Srebrenica. In 1996, Rohde was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting for his coverage of the wars in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A year later, he summarized his experience and findings in the book Endgame: The Betrayal and Fall of Srebrenica, Europe's Worst Massacre Since World War II.
