Lebanon, 1983-1998
The Lebanon series contains nine tapes (raw footage and documentaries) covering the Lebanese Civil War 1975-1990 and its aftermath. The materials include raw footage of UN Marines missions in Lebanon, interviews with members of the “war generation” in Beirut and with women activists in Israeli-occupied southern Lebanon, and the events covered include the Sabra-Shatila massacre, the 1982 siege of Beirut, and the situation in southern Lebanon in the 1990s. Most of the materials were produced by independent filmmakers, including Jean Khalil and Mai Masri.
